The following interest groups are currently active:
Cooking Club - Meets every other month, on a weekday morning, to test Italian recipes. Members take turns offering a demonstration. Evening sessions may be scheduled if there is enough interest. Coordinator: Phyllis Loffreda Mancinelli.
Parliamo Italiano! Italian Conversation Club - Meets every month, usually on a Friday evening, to practice conversing in Italian. All levels of Italian are welcome. Members generally take turns hosting in their homes. Coordinator(s): TBA.
Opera Club - Meets two times a year to experience opera in an intimate setting. Coordinators: Sabina Coraluppi, Federica Dalla Vecchia, Michelina Fato, Phyllis Loffreda-Mancinelli,Tammy Murdock.
Italian Cinema Club - Meets at Pittsburgh Filmmakers and other venues to screen Italian films. Twice a year (once in the Fall and once in the Spring on a Friday evening) the group hosts a “cinema in salotto” event. Coordinators: Amalia Labbruzzo and Patrizia Costa Frezza
Donne a Passeggio / Walking Club - Meets early morning in the Fall and Spring (weather permitting) for a brisk walk in Schenley or Frick Park on an agreed-upon weekday (usually Tuesday or Thursday). Coordinator: Simona Bertoli
Book Club - Meets 4-5 times during the program year to discuss books on Italy, Italian culture or by Italian authors. Members generally take turns hosting in their homes. Books and discussions are in English. However, members are welcome to read from an Italian edition when one is available. Coordinator: Kathleen Bishop
